Update: we were able to take Ivy in and she is currently safe! Below is her original plea for help:"So dad goes for his back surgery tomorrow. And that means the next chapter of my life is beginning. My dad can't have me anymore. But before everybody starts feeling sad for me... Try to understand that this is how it is sometimes. My dad has raised me to be a good dog.. I like kids and cats and other dog's. I like people and I'm house broken. So being a (nearly) two-year-old dog looking for a home, I think things are looking pretty good for me. My dad set me up for success.I'm excited about the next step of my life. My dad seems really stressed out because hes having a hard time finding any place to take me. HIS SURGERY IS TOMORROW MORNING.My dad did not know there is a crisis in the pet community. He had no idea that so many animals are being surrendered because of financial and housing issues.And here I am. Caught in this riptide. It's a veritable LOGJAM of homeless pets. I'm not going to lie.... this stinks. Dad is freaking out. I'm a dog, so I am not thinking about the same things my dad is. But I HAVE been feeling dad's stress. It's been hard enough with him down with a blown back. Dang it, I have been SO BORED. And I have been excited about finding a new family. I am feeling all cooped up and need a foster or adoptive home to wear me out... like dad used to do.So. NO SAD FACES. I NEED POSITIVITY RIGHT NOW! Let's do this!
